What to Expect From Us
What Happens When You Phone Us
Before you contact Parsippany Detox Assistance, this overview explains the help available by phone and the limits of that help.
Safety note: For a medical emergency, call 911. For immediate mental-health or substance-use crisis support, call or text 988.
The Usual Stages of a Conversation
1. Share what brought you to the call
You can call even when you have no plan or are unsure how to help a family member. No appointment or documents are required to begin the conversation.
2. Get clear explanations
We explain detox, inpatient care, and outpatient care in everyday terms and share state and federal resources for you to review. Because we are not clinicians, symptom assessment and diagnosis are outside our role.
3. Review possible starting points
Starting points may include a state search tool, a public helpline, or an independent program type related to your questions. You decide which resource, if any, to contact next.
4. Confirm information directly
Contact a program before enrolling to ask about its license, staffing, charges, and available services. Compare its answers with official state licensing records.
Limits of Our Phone Support
- Diagnosis and treatment recommendations must come from qualified professionals, not us.
- Reserving beds, arranging appointments, and guaranteeing prices are not services we provide.
- Emergency response and mental-health crisis services are outside our scope.
- Only the appropriate insurer and provider can confirm benefits; we do not verify coverage.
- No outcome from a program can be guaranteed by our team.
Why Independent Verification Matters
Any provider discussed on a call operates independently from us. Mentioning a resource is not an endorsement: we do not screen, score, or supervise providers. You and your family should investigate each service, program, or resource before making a commitment.
